We created the platform FIRST Help to pass the knowledge and create a cooperation between teams. The 4 sub-titles of the online platform are:
FRC Virtual Camp
In January 2022, we organized FRC Virtual Camp, in order to create a master- apprentice relationship between well-known teams and the community. We got teams ready for the season through an online camp. Additionally, FRC Virtual Camp was presented by FRC#11 - Creating A Sustainable Team, FRC#3132 - How To Put Your Team’s Mission Into Practice and FIRST Capital Ri3D - Strong Production Steps and Season Tips. We had 710 live stream audiences from 8 countries: the USA, Israel, Turkey, Australia, Canada, Mexico, China, Kazakhstan and in 10 different cities. FRC Virtual Camp had a participation of 33 teams and reached 1847 people!
NFT & SultansToken
Within digital transformation, this year we've created the first NFT collection of the FIRST community- The Tool Bag. It consists of 57 pieces of ethereum block-chain linked art pieces and includes tools we use daily in our ateliers. We are selling the NFTs on OpenSea and fundraising the income for establishing new teams- in high schools of eastern Turkey. Our team created SultansToken®- the first crypto coin based token of FIRST. At the end of April 2022, you’ll be able to install SultansToken app- play the robot simulation and earn tokens! The robot simulation game includes the exact replication of 2019’s fields where players can choose from the given robot mechanisms and build their robots in metaverse.
Tech Days
Between April-June 2021, we organized “Tech Days”. We aimed to make students catch up with the world of business and hosted three months long webinars with masters in the fields. The 17 presenters from 11 different companies (Hepsiburada-Mendix- JustEat etc.) helped 387 students gain information about agile, interface designing, cyber security, scrum, etc.
Local & Global Outreach
We’ve reached 159 different high schools across the country via phone calls- to make FIRST known. Within the mission of taking FIRST beyond the country: we are in contact with schools from Spain, Russia, Philippines, Italy, Greece, Denmark and Belgium.
FLL Jr. team in Mersin & Project On The Go
In 2020 we opened an FLL Jr. team in an underprivileged village in Mersin. As we’re also mentoring FLL teams we wanted to create a cooperation between them. Project On The Go is an open source website where FLL teams can share their projects while inspiring other teams and making sustainable projects. We’ve reached 21 teams to make an impact in FLL.
FLL Jr. Preparatory Classes
FLL takımlarının danışabileceği bir takım olma fikriyle yola çıkarak Sarıyer Belediyesi işbirliği olan FLL Jr. Hazırlık sınıflarını oluşturduk. İstanbul Belediyesi ve Yuvamız İstanbul’un da katkılarıyla 4-6 yaş aralığındaki çocuklara 7 sınıf açtık. Basit algoritma ve kodlama dersleri içeren müfredatımız, 243 çocuk için 10 haftalık bir eğitim oldu.
STEM Education of Educators
Sürdürülebilirliği sağlamak için STEM Education of Educators adı altında Beylikdüzü Belediyesi’ndeki 70 öğretmene hazırladığımız FLL Jr. müfredatının eğitimini yüzyüze veriyor olacağız. Nisan 2022’de gerçekleşmesini planladığımız STEM Education of Educators’ın hemen sonrasında Mayıs’ta düzenlenecek bir FLL Jr. Fuarı meraklılarını bekliyor!
Women in STEM & Giving Girls STEM Education
2020’de Women in STEM’i Türkiye’ye getiren ve yayan ilk liseli kadınlar biz olduk! Takımımızın kadınları olarak, Dünya’daki en büyük WiSTEM Chapter’ını 259 kadının katılımıyla açtık. Cesaretli kadınları bu alanda daha çok görmek istediğimizden, Afganistan’daki dezavantajlı liseli 200 kadına STEM eğitimi vererek gelişimlerini gözlemledik.
